  I scent the salt of tears before I realize she’s crying.

  "Sloane?" I’m slightly alarmed. Fuck. If she doesn't want this, we'll find another way.

  "I love you, too,” she chokes. “You’re so much more than I ever expected or hoped for in a friend, boyfriend, lover—anything. And what scares me most is losing you. So, hell yes. I want you to bite me.”

  I’m on her in a second. The damn car is way too small for me, but I lunge across the center console and claim her mouth, licking between her lips, drinking from her. Just knowing she’s consented has my canines descending, the serum for marking dripping sweetness on my tongue.

  I can’t lose control. I need to figure out how to do it without killing her—because claiming bites are usually deep and in the vicinity of the jugular. “Stay there,” I growl and throw the door open, stalking around to her side. I drop to my knees in front of her open door and get my head between her knees. “Get those jeans down, beautiful. I need in.”

  She shimmies out of her jeans and panties, wrapping those long, gorgeous legs around my shoulders as I lick into her with the fervor of a fanatic. I’m a fanatic dedicated to pleasing my female. I work her into a frenzy, my swollen cock trapped against my fly the whole time, aching for release. But I’m not going to let it out. Not until I’ve taken care of the bite. I have to stay in control.

  I screw one finger into her, my thumb rubbing her clit while I search for her G-spot.

  When I find it, she screams, yanking on my hair. “Come for me, Legs,” I growl, trailing my lips across her thigh toward the area of my target— the fleshy side of her ass, where scars won’t show, and I won’t endanger her.   And then I sink my teeth into her.

  My wolf roars with pleasure. I somehow manage not to jizz in my pants as I keep fucking and fucking her while extricating my teeth from her flesh and licking the wounds so they heal more quickly.

  “Are you okay, beautiful? Tell me you’re okay.” The scent of her blood has my wolf wild, even though he’s the one who fucking did this to her. I’m in a frenzy—ready to kill for her. Ready to fuck. Ready to pledge my balls to her service for the rest of my life.

  She pants, her slender fingers still wrapped in my hair. “I’m fine. It’s fine.”

  I trail kisses down her leg. “I’m sorry I hurt you.”

  “I’m not. I freaking love it.”

  “I’ll buy you a ring. Or whatever human thing you want,” I promise, even though the only money I have is what’s left from the fight. I can fight again. I’ll provide for her if she doesn’t want to use the rest of the gold.

  Her laugh is low and sultry. “I don’t need a ring, Bo Fenton. A bite is so much better. I got me a wolf.”

  The way she says wolf makes it sound like I’m some crazy, exotic creature. Which, I guess to her, I am.

  I ease back and apply a big square adhesive bandage from the box I bought in preparation, then gently, gently help her back into her panties and jeans. I want to fuck her, but I’m gonna wait. Marking her took a huge edge off, so I can wait until she heals. Or until I sneak in her bedroom window after dropping her home.

  “Where are all those cars going?” Sloane asks when another pair of headlights swing around the curve.

  “To the mesa. You wanna meet the gang? The other alpha-holes and our royal court?” No one will mess with her now that I’ve marked her. There will be a shit-ton of gossip about it, but they’ll learn to treat her like the queen she is.

  She gives me that heart-stopping smile. “Definitely. Anything with you.”

  Anything with you.

  Yeah. That pretty much sums it up. We have our whole lives in front of us—together. It can’t get any better than that.

  I lean in and kiss her on the lips. “I love you, Legs.”

  She makes a contented sound. “And I love you, Muscles.”

  I chuckle and shut the door, walking around to take her to meet my friends.
